Qoctor does not offer prescriptions for oral Isotretinoin treatment, as this must be prescribed by a dermatologist. It is very important to see a dermatologist if you have severe acne, particularly if there is evidence of scarring.
However, it is possible to obtain a prescription for many common acne treatments via Qoctor, for mild to moderate acne. These include:
- oral antibiotics (such as doxycycline). Click here to start.
- topical treatments (creams and gels). Click here to start.
- the contraceptive pill (COCP). Click here to start.
Isotretinoin in its oral, capsule form (also known as Roaccutane or Oratane) is not prescribed by GPs - it always requires referral to a dermatologist. If you have moderate to severe acne and wish to see a dermatologist to discuss oral Isotretinoin, Qoctor can assist with a referral letter to a private dermatologist. Click here to find out more about how to get a new referral letter to a dermatologist. If you just need a repeat referral letter to your usual dermatologist, or to a dermatologist you have seen for acne treatment in the past, click here.
Please note, it is possible to get a prescription for topical Isotretinoin (in its gel form) via Qoctor. This may be appropriate for milder acne. If this is what you need, click here to start.
