Does my partner need to get tested for BV?

If you have had BV, you may wonder whether your sexual partner(s) should get tested. Although BV is not an STI, if you have a female partner, she should consider being tested if  she also has symptoms. If she has no symptoms, there is no particular need to get tested (unless she is pregnant or has had recent pelvic surgery, in which case testing may be advisable).

However, a male partner does not need to be tested for BV.
